SHIKWAH STANZA 7

ہم جو جیتے تھے تو جنگوں کی مصیبت کے لئے اور مرتے تھے ترے نام کی عظمت کے لئے تھی نہ کچھ تیغ زنی اپنی حکومت کے لئے سر بکف پھرتے تھے کیا دہر میں دولت کے لئے ؟ قوم اپنی جو زر و مال جہاں پر مرتی بت فروشی کے عوض بت شکنی کیوں کر تی ؟ We lived to bear the sufferings of the war, And died to uphold the greatness of your name The purpose of the wars we fought was not to gain power Did we wander in the world without caring for our lives for wealth ? If money was all that our nation wanted, Then why would we break the idols instead of selling them?
